JASON LANGLEY’S PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
 

A freelance director and actor for twenty-six years, Jason graduated from Nepean at the University of Western Sydney with a BA in Performing Arts. In 2016 he received the Green Room Award for Direction – Loving Repeating (Vic Theatre Co).

 

Jason was involved in the creation, dramaturgy and direction of several new Australian works culminating in productions of – Say Hello First (Old Fitz), Playing Rock Hudson (Old Fitz), Boyband (Ricochet Working Productions), The Windows Project (ATYP & Darlinghurst Theatre Co), Almost Home (Mardi Gras Arts), What’s Happening To Clementine (El Rocco Room), Jingle Bell Jazz (CDP/Sydney Opera House), Go Your Own Way (National and International tours) and Breast Wishes (National tour), also workshop presentations of – Happy Hour (Q Theatre), Cocktales (Hayes Theatre Co), A Promised Land (Riverside Theatre).

 

In November, 2016 he directed The Production Company’s revival of the Australian musical Dusty at Melbourne’s Arts Centre with a subsequent tour to Adelaide Festival Centre.

 

Jason directed: Wonderful Town (Sydney Opera House), Here Lies Henry in London (TurnAround Productions), As You Like It (Shakespeare Centre), Take Two (CDP/Sydney Opera House) Elegies (The Sydney Theatre), The Double Bass (Sydney Fringe), Legally Blonde, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (Regal Theatre, Perth) Merrily We Roll Along, Once On This Island, A Chorus Line, Ragtime, Batboy, Easy Virtue (WAAPA), Yesterday An Incident Occurred, The Skriker, The Rimers Of Eldritch, Chekhov In Hell (AIM Dramatic Arts), Carousel, Brigadoon (CQU Conservatorium), and The 25th Annual Premier’s Christmas Concert (Sydney Entertainment Centre).

 

He was Resident Director on the Australian Tour of The Woman In Black and directed the entertainment for the 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2014 Sydney Theatre Awards.

 

Other directing credits include: Chair In The Landscape, Three Winters Green, The Golden Age, The Met West Youth Drama Festival, Line Up Alone, The Kid, Our Country’s Good, If Only I Could Bear To Be Alone, Abelard And Heloise, Nicholas Nickleby, Hats Off and Light The Night.

 

Jason’s recent acting credits include Mothers And Sons (Ensemble Theatre Co), Monty Python’s Spamalot (Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne), Under Ice (Griffin Independent), Lady Macbeth Of Mtsensk (Company B, Belvoir), Piranha Heights (Shedding Skin) and he was nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for his performance in No Way To Treat A Lady (Darlinghurst Theatre Co).
